Indiaca

Indiaca is a team sport suitable for all ages originating from the Brazilian game of Peteka. Two teams, each consisting of five players, attempt to hit the ball with their hands over a net that divides the 16 x 6.1 m field. The objective is to make the ball land in the opponent's field in a way that prevents them from legally returning it, using manoeuvres such as ball reception, setting, and attacking shots. The game can be played indoors or on beach courts.

Additionally, "Indiaca" refers to the equipment used in the game. The Indiaca is a flat, yellow foam cushion, equipped with four large red turkey feathers to stabilize its flight path. The game is appealing to both spectators and participants. Indiaca is a gymnastic game with a low risk of injury, allowing both women and men, as well as boys and girls, to play together on the same team. It is relatively easy to learn.

Regular German Championships have been held since 1998.
